I don't see why all of you are complaining so much about ATI. I have a 9800pro with the newest drivers and newest xorg. And I run everything better than it ran in windows.
Although it is a little buggy in cedega, what can be expected? Anyways the graphics are great in cedega, just the actual game play is a little...... off.
BTW: The biggest help was moving to a custom patched kernel. Nothing worked until I switched over to:

Fastest kernel I've ever used. After installing that my sound and graphics suddenly worked like a charm. |

You expect bugs? Please tell me this is a joke.
How can you defend ATI if they have bugs in their software.. bugs that you obviously see when working with their drivers? How can you justify that if there is an alternative, with better support for linux, very few bugs (in fact, I haven't seen any serious bug, just one or two that were minor violations of the spec, but no crashes etc)?
I had a radeon 9800, I couldn't even install WoW on it, and the installation doesn't use any 3D graphics! I immediately changed to nvidia.. the afternoon I got WoW.. that was on Europes WoW launch.. and I haven't had any problems since!
How is this world gonna end if people expect bugs in the software they use  
I see it comming.. in america.. breaking news.. hacker sues microsoft for not 'providing' security holes and bugs in their software... because.. after all .. people expect bugs in software.. and when there is none.. so sue them  |
