Hi.
When I log into KDE kmix always appears (since I compiled KDE) on my desktop instead of minimized in the notification area. I must everytime configure KMix, uncheck and check "Panel integration" checkbox.
Also the battery icon doesn't show up anymore. I now have to open KDE Control Center, Laptop Battery, then uncheck and check "Show battery follow-up" to have the battery icon back in KDE notification area.
How can I force these applications remember my settings and show appropriately in the notification area? This is a fresh install of KDE except qt has been upgraded just once IIRC. Should I just recompile the packages that contain kmix and klaptop? _________________ Gentoo addict: tomorrow I quit, I promise!... Just one more emerge...

isn't it too much overkill to erase my profile completely for just two applications? I've got lots of things that took me much time to configure and there are some that I don't want to go through anymore... _________________ Gentoo addict: tomorrow I quit, I promise!... Just one more emerge...

I looked up but removing these files didn't help. I've just backed up and removed my KDE profile. I'm still logged on ATM. I'll see next time I log on. I think it has something to do with the kicker applet instead. I'll do more accurate tries when I have a little time.
EDIT: They do appear back at logon. However KMix never appears reduced but always in a restored state. I don't know how to make it not appear on screen at logon when it's in the notification area. _________________ Gentoo addict: tomorrow I quit, I promise!... Just one more emerge...

Solution (the hard way): rebuilt my KDE profile. _________________ Gentoo addict: tomorrow I quit, I promise!... Just one more emerge...
