I plain to buy the via epiaM9000/10000 mainboard and want to know if the onboard soundcard chip will produce 5.1 sound under linux.

This topic is a very fine line, but I think you will get more traffic in the Hardware and Laptops forum -- If you feel like it truly belongs in Multimedia (or any other moderators do) just PM me and I will move it back.
But until someone corrects my, I'm moving this thread from Multimedia to Hardware and Laptops.
