Problem Installing Linksys WMP54G Wireless Card

Hello, any help would be appreciated!

First I emerged net-wireless/rt2500-1.1.0_beta2-r2

When I modprobe rt2500 or reboot my system this is the error I get in dmesg:
rt2500: Unknown symbol verify_area

Can someone guide me to a solution to get this card working?

I also couldn't get rt2500-1.1.0_beta2-r2 to work with kernel 2.6.14-gentoo-r2. The module doesn't load right and 'ra0 cannot be found'. Plus I have that same error.

BUT, rt2500 does work with kernel-2.6.13-gentoo-r5 on my system, amd64.

I'm trying to get my adapter working again after upgrading to kernel 2.6.14. From searching on the web it looks like verify_area has been depreciated for a while and now 2.6.14 won't accept it at all. I'm trying to use the driver rt2500usb from http://rt2x00.serialmonkey.com/ . Everything seems to be working except for some DNS problem
