|
|
I was reading through a post about installing netplug to automatically detect when my LAN jack is removed, which required me to emerge the latest baselayout. After emerging baselayout, I get messages like the following during boot.
Code: | iwconfig does not support the required function provides |
and
Code: | iptunnel does not support the required function provides check_installed |
The messages come up for a lot of system components. I can still get to my desktop through X but stuff like internet doesn't work. I've read elsewhere that I have to do an etc-update, which I tried, but I have no idea what to do as far as which files to keep[/code]. Can someone provide a noob friendly step-by-step way to fix this? Thanks for any help.
UPDATE
i just emerged back the 1.11 version of baselayout, and things seem to be back to normal.

Hi,
Which baselayout version are you using. I suggest stay with versions <=baselayout-1.11.14. There are problems with the latest pre release versions AFAIK.
Have you run through all those ._cfg000_ files in the /etc directory after the upgrade ?
