I've got an integrated AC'97 card and a PCI SB Live! 5.1.
The problem is that the system chooses AC'97 by default and I don't want to!
How could I set SB Live! 5.1 default?
Thanx a lot!! _________________ DEATH IS THE ONLY TRUE SALVATION |

Are you able to deactivate the onboard sound in your BIOS setup? |

follow the ALSA guide so that your sound card support is built as modules. when you have followed that, look in /etc/modules.d/alsa
you'll see where it assigns one to snd-slot-0 and snd-card-0 and the other to snd-slot-1 and snd-card-1
0 is always the default, swap them around so that you get the desired configuration _________________ http://dev.gentoo.org/~dsd |
