Hi!
i get a Code: | # emerge -up world
These are the packages that I would merge, in order:
Calculating world dependencies ...done!
[blocks B ] x11-libs/libXft (is blocking x11-base/xorg-x11-6.8.2-r6)
[ebuild UD] x11-base/xorg-x11-6.8.2-r6 [7.0.0_rc3]
[ebuild N ] virtual/x11-6.8
[ebuild N ] x11-terms/xterm-204
[ebuild U ] www-client/mozilla-firefox-1.5-r2 [1.5-r1]

why the heck would xorg want to downgrade??? and how can i fix this?? _________________ WEBSITE

The best solution for the downgrade problem is given in bugzilla:

echo 'virtual/x11 >=xorg-x11-7.0.0_rc3' >> /etc/portage/profile/virtuals |
/etc/portage/profile does not exist.....
so just stuff one in there...

That actually borked my system, but changing it to x11-base/xorg-x11-7.0.0_rc3 worked for me. _________________ Nihilism makes me smile. |
