Hallo,
ich bekomme den xserver nicht zum laufen. Es liegt aber nicht am nvidia-kernel. Den kann ich einwandfrei laden. Ich habe schon alles ausprobiert.
Sollte normal ja mind. die Grundeinstellung einstellen:
und auch mit Xorgconf geht es einfach nicht. Es ist nie ein richtig konfiguriertes Display vorhanden. Meine alte xorg.conf (die ich gesichert hatte geht nicht mehr (OBWOHL DIE HARDWARE GLEICH IST))
Hat wer einen Rat??

Welche xorg Version installierst du grade?
Wenn es 7.0 ist, wäre ich auch an der Lösung interessiert, ich schaffe es genauso wenig wie du.

Wie da im log steht, kann er das Nvidia modul nicht laden. Mach doch mal in der Konsole modprobe nvidia und schau mal was dmesg dazu sagt.
Gründe dafür könnten sein:
1)Kernel neu kompiliert -> dann muss auch nvidia-kernel neu komiliert werden (emerge nvidia-kernel)
2)Umstellung auf gcc 3.4, kernel und modul müssen mit dem gleichen gcc übersetzt werden
Mehr fällt mir spontan leider nicht ein. |

mit modprobe kann ich nvidia laden. lsmod zeigt nvidia ebenfalls als geladen an.

Kernel 2.6.14 und die Nvidia 1.0.6629 ?
Ab ich glaube Kernel 2.6.13 kommt der letzte stabile Nvidia-Treiber nicht mehr klar und legt seine device-nodes nicht mehr an.
als "bugfix"

Soweit ich weiss, braucht man DISPLAY nur wenn man X-Programme an einem entfernten Rechner (z.b. via ssh) ausführen will.
Ist DISPLAY leer, nimmt er glaub ich automatisch localhost an. |

dann meint die kiste das diese schon angelegt sind.Naja...auch mit dem neuen Nvidia gehts net..dann geht der Bildschirm in den Standby. Das komische ist ja das auch meine alte xorg.conf net mehr geht. dann meint bleibt der Bildschirm auch schwarz. Dabei ist das doch der alte PC...die conf ist von der Kiste!!
EDIT: Werde mal nen andern kernel versuchen. Werde das Gefühl nicht los das es damit was zu tun hat.
