|
|
Okay for the past few days now i have been trying to get my jabber server up and running and also the various transports along with it,
so far i have only been able to get the jabber part working successfuly on the ebuild, but i get this repetitive error message that i can't figure out
Code: | 20030314T02:17:18: [warn] (io_select): 127.0.0.1(24) is being connection rate limited |
i've searched the forums, google, jabber's site and the multitude related that i could find with no luck.
if some one perhaps has some insight into this problem or would be willing to post there jabber *.xml config files that would be very helpful.
once this one is fixed i'll tell you about my transport problem.
TIA |

I managed to reduce the frequency of those error messages by tinkering with the <io> section at the bottom of the file. I still think the config files that come with the Jabber ebuild must be very buggy.

well actually i managed to find the exact source of the problem(almost),
the problem being mu-conferencing, i found that if i disabled that i wouldn't get the error anymore.
in other words i just commented out the muc part in the jabber init script. |

yeah i tried the app out, nothing special unless you don't use gentoo, all it really does is simplify a few parts of the configuration and make it so you can start and stop the service easier if you don't use init scripts.
so all in all a nifty program if you don't know much about starting and stopping processes. |
