|
|
Hi,
Ive just emerged Fluxbox. But what now?
According to the docs on Fluxbox I have to:
Code: | $ tar -xzvf fluxbox-<version>.tar.gz
$ ./configure
$ make
# make install |
And then
Code: | exec /usr/local/bin/fluxbox |
to start Fluxbox...
I assume that I dont have to make the first code-section, since I emerged Fluxbox...therefore its allready compiled. But running the second chunk, only displays an error:
Code: | connection to X server failed |
What to do? KDE runs fine btw...
regards,
Supermule |

Try editting /etc/rc.conf and changing the XSESSION variable to Fluxbox. Then a "startx" should launch fluxbox.
To my knowledge, the "exec fluxbox" part should be put in your .xinitrc, but I have been able to get fluxbox running just by properly setting XSESSION. |
