Hello!
I have amd64 but when i try to install install-amd64-universal-2005.1 I get
Your CPU does not support long mode. Use a 32bit distribution.
But i have amd64 so it should support this.
I'm installing it through virtual PC, could this have anithing to do with this? What could I do?
I have to make one thing clear: I'm not going to run a 32bit dist.
Thanks in advance. |

I would guess that because you are running virtual pc on a 32bit operating system, you cannot install a 64bit operating system. The best thing to do would be to repartition your hard drive or install a second hard drive, and dual-boot. Your speed would be much faster then too. _________________ "I saw the code for your computer program yesterday. It looked easy. Its just a bunch of typing. And half of the words were spelt wrong. And the stupid part is that MICROSOFT virtual PC doesn't work on MICROSOFT windows xp 64-bit.

That was my first thoughts but I'm 100% sure of that I should use virtual pc.
So it's the "x86" i should use, right? Don't want to download and try 6 * 600MB files. |
