I have a Biostar T-Force 6100 motherboard but I can't seem to get my SATA to work for anything, I've compiled support in the kernel (at least as far as I know) but no luck and I really need access to my SATA drive because I'm trying to recover a lost partition on it. Can anyone help me? |

Which driver did you compile in? Did you remember to compile in SCSI support.
I just selected the nvidia sata driver under "SCSI low-level drivers" and it works fine.
Code: |
<*> Serial ATA (SATA) support
....
<*> NVIDIA SATA support
....

I'm assuming your board is an Nforce based one of course... _________________ Intel Core Quad Q6600 @ 3GHz

This was my first kernel build so forgive me but I don't believe I selected SCSI support at all. LOL |

There's a SATA driver amongst all the ATA drivers, which is the old one and you shouldn't really use it unless you have a specific reason. The newer (and betterer?) SATA drivers are now hidden away in all the SCSI stuff.
If you actually got your first kernel to boot, you did better than me! Actually it booted, but absolutly NOTHING worked. lol.
You'll get the hang of it... _________________ Intel Core Quad Q6600 @ 3GHz
