When I turn on my sun blade 1000, the fans are really noisy, but they go much quieter after booting solaris. They stay noisy when I boot linux (using 2.16.13-gentoo-r5). Is there a way to make them go quiet, or is linux missing the relevant drivers? |

Normally you'd want to enable the bbc_i2c driver as this would cause the fans to go down. However the last time I tried this, any kernel version over 2.6.12-rc4 ended up with extremely high load averages even when the system was idle. I haven't tried in the 2.6.15-rcs yet though. |
