about system req on gentoo?

okay system req for world of warcraft on windows is:
Windows® System 2000/XP OS:

* Intel Pentium® III 800 MHz or AMD Athlon 800 MHz
* 512 MB or more of RAM
* 32 MB 3D graphics card with Hardware Transform and Lighting, such as NVIDIA® GeForce™ 2 class card or above
* DirectX® 9.0c (included) and latest video drivers
* 6.0 GB available HD space
* 4x CD-ROM drive
* A 56k or better Internet connection

is the same system req on gentoo some people say windows take more cpu and ram then linux ???

I'm not even sure that's an accurate minimum spec for Windows!

Geforce 2? Would have to be on stupid-low quality and stay the hell away from Ironforge! No.

But yes I would think wine/cedega has it's own overheads, therefore pushing the requirements up.

The lowest system I've played WoW on so far is a Duron 1200, 512MB RAM, a Geforce 4MX, running Ubuntu with cedega 5.0. And that was only just playable.

If you really must try it on a system of this spec, make sure you use a lightweight window manager, stick to 16bpp colour and run in OpenGL mode with everything on low. You never know.

anyway i am getting 800 mhz computer and 256 mb ram but i have 2600 amd xp barton 2x 256 mb ddr and i play wow on windows and i only use windows so i was just wondering:)
