|

Well this is the situation, in my office we work on IBM AS/400 as Enterprise Server, and we use iSeries Access for windows to the comunications to the AS/400.
I was finding in the portage, and is no ubuild to the iSeries Access,
I find one on the IBM home page, but is RPM and when i try to install, isn't posibble because a few libraries are missing.
Please, I don't want to use winsucks.
P.D. Excuse me for my bad english, but isn's my native language.
Saluditos. _________________ "This is a different kind of world, you need a different kind of software"

Hi Alex,
as long as IBM only provides a RPM package
the chances that an ebuild appears will be very small.
You could however check which libraries are needed for the RPM
install them via emerge until you can install the RPM package.
Just visited the IBM website and they tell
there is a web access comming up that will solve your problem maybe.
The last option would be tu run the MS-Windows version via wine.

You might want to check exactly what remote access function you require. IIRC, (it's been a long, long time) the AS/400 uses a special terminal type of 5250, and I'm pretty sure there are a few 5250 terminal emulators for Linux around. Look for TN5250. (it's just the 5250 terminal protocol over Telnet) |
