I have two printers configured, an local HP Deskjet 932c and a Canon Piximo IP4000 on a Windows XP machine. Both machines tested fine, and both can print stuff from kwrite or KATE, but when I try to print a web page from Konqueror or Firefox the job aborts. If I try to restart the job through http://localhost:631 then I get error-client-not-possible. What gives? |

do you use ipp: or smb: ?
what does cupsd log in the logfiles ?
If not so much, increase the verbosity in the cups.conf; it is possible to get the logging to show what it send to the printer. |

I had the exact same problem. I found a fix in a post by Badchien: he suggested setting File -> Print -> Properties -> Print Command to just "kprinter" (without the quotation marks).
Now Firefox opens the kprinter dialog window when I attempt to print, one extra step in the print process, but at least it works, and I get the additional features offered by kprinter.
