Hi there,

I was wondering whether anybody had a recent ebuild for kwave?

The current one downloadable from here uses the old kde dependency (e.g. kde-base/kdemultimedia), on my system, I have installed the individual kde packages instead and as expected, they block installation.

Thanks for any pointer.

Tim.

Hi there,

I tried the ebuild but I'm hitting a problem, since it's the first time I try a custom ebuild I'm not sure something's wrong with the ebuild or with something I've done. I would appreciate if someone could check I've done the right thing.

I've done this:

1) created the directory:
/usr/local/portage/media-sound/kwave

2) added the following line in /etc/make.conf:
PORTDIR_OVERLAY=/usr/local/portage

3) downloaded the ebuild from here and place it here:
/usr/local/portage/media-sound/kwave/kwave-0.7.4.ebuild

then

emerge -v kwave

The download failed so I manually downloaded the tar.gz file from the kwave site here and placed it under the directory:
/usr/portage/distfiles/

then

emerge -v kwave

again and unfortunately, I get the following error message:
Code:
Calculating dependencies ...done!
>>> emerge (1 of 1) media-sound/kwave-0.7.4 to /
!!! No package manifest found: /usr/local/portage/media-sound/kwave/Manifest

Is there something else I must do?

Tim.

Run "ebuild /usr/local/portage/media-sound/kwave/kwave-0.7.4.ebuild digest" and then you will be able to emerge it.
