hi,
am - like most times - rather confused 'bout my locales. to my understanding the right place to set them would be in /etc/env.d/02locale.
on my new 2.6.14-gentoo-r5 install there is no such file? is there a new location for this settings?
thanks again _________________ lo-jay

This is what I use and it seems to work ok. Not sure why it isn't included in some way when you make your system utf-8 compliant
Code: |
# cat /etc/env.d/02locale
LANG="en_US.utf8"
LANGUAGE="en_US.utf8"
LC_ALL="en_US.utf8"
|
Adjust for your language of course. _________________ #gentoo-kde on freenode |

You don't have /etc/env.d ????
If that's the case then the problem is elsewhere...
If you just don't have the 02locale file then make it. _________________ #gentoo-kde on freenode |

02locale isn't a dir. Its a file. |

Everything seems normal to me, since the /etc/env.d/02locale has to be created by the user
Feel better now? |
