My usb wereless mouse works fine before. After I upgraded to xorg-7.1, I lost my usb mouse. But the trackpoint still works fine. I tested the usb mouse with a boot CD. The usb mouse works fine. I also find that the usb mouse can be dectected.

Code:

# lsusb
Bus 003 Device 002: ID 09da:001a A4 Tech Co., Ltd Wireless Mouse & RXM-15 Receiver

I upgraded from
Quote:

mesa-6.4.2-r2, libXcursor-1.1.6, libXft-2.1.8.2,
xorg-server-1.0.2-r4, xf86-video-ati-6.5.8.0, xf86-input-mouse-1.0.4,
xf86-input-keyboard-1.0.1.3, mesa-progs-6.4.2, xorg-x11-7.0-r1

to
Quote:
mesa-6.5-r3, libXcursor-1.1.7, libXft-2.1.9,
xorg-server-1.1.0, xf86-video-ati-6.6.0, xf86-input-mouse-1.1.1,
xf86-input-keyboard-1.1.0, mesa-progs-6.5, xorg-x11-7.1

I get some information by "cat /var/log/messages | grep input".
Before I upgraded, the results are:
Quote:

Jun 3 08:43:22 input: AT Translated Set 2 keyboard as /class/input/input0
Jun 3 08:43:22 input: TPPS/2 IBM TrackPoint as /class/input/input1
Jun 3 08:43:22 input: A4Tech RF USB Mouse as /class/input/input2
Jun 3 08:43:22 input: USB HID v1.10 Mouse [A4Tech RF USB Mouse] on usb-0000:00:1d.1-2
Jun 3 08:43:22 drivers/usb/input/hid-core.c: v2.6:USB HID core driver

After I upgraded, the results are:
Quote:

Jun 4 14:53:25 psmouse.c: TrackPoint at isa0060/serio1/input0 lost synchronization, throwing 1 bytes away.
Jun 4 14:53:49 psmouse.c: TrackPoint at isa0060/serio1/input0 lost synchronization, throwing 1 bytes away.
Jun 4 14:54:58 psmouse.c: TrackPoint at isa0060/serio1/input0 lost synchronization, throwing 2 bytes away.
Jun 4 17:39:29 input: AT Translated Set 2 keyboard as /class/input/input0
Jun 4 17:39:29 input: TPPS/2 IBM TrackPoint as /class/input/input1

I didn't change my kernel config and didn't recompile it that day. And I also didn't change my xorg.conf. The relative part of the xorg.conf is:
Quote:

....
InputDevice "Keyboard" "CoreKeyboard"
InputDevice "TrackMouse" "CorePointer"
....

Section "InputDevice"
Identifier "Keyboard"
Driver "kbd"
EndSection

Section "InputDevice"
Identifier "TrackMouse"
Driver "mouse"
Option "Protocol" "auto"
Option "Device" "/dev/psaux"
Option "ZAxisMapping" "4 5 6 7"
EndSection
....

I didn't find error message in Xorg.0.log. The results of "cat /var/log/Xorg.0.log | grep Mouse are:
Quote:

(**) |-->Input Device "TrackMouse"
(**) TrackMouse: Device: "/dev/psaux"
(**) TrackMouse: Protocol: "auto"
(**) TrackMouse: Core Pointer
(==) TrackMouse: Emulate3Buttons, Emulate3Timeout: 50
(**) TrackMouse: ZAxisMapping: buttons 4, 5, 6 and 7
(**) TrackMouse: Buttons: 11
(II) XINPUT: Adding extended input device "TrackMouse" (type: MOUSE)
(--) TrackMouse: PnP-detected protocol: "ExplorerPS/2"
(II) TrackMouse: ps2EnableDataReporting: succeeded

That all the information that I know. Does anyone have any suggestion? Thank you in advance!

Did you add "mouse" to INPUT_DEVICES in /etc/make.conf :?:

If not, you need something like:

Code:

INPUT_DEVICES="keyboard mouse"
VIDEO_CARDS="<your card here>"

I test the mouses in console.
Code:
#gpm -m /dev/psaux -t PS/2

The trackpoint works and usb mouse doesn't. Instead of being a problem of xorg, it might be a problem kernel. Need I move this topic to "Kernel & Hardware"? It's wired. I didn't do anything on the kernel.

I find the CONFIG_USB_MOUSE is not set. The usb mouse worked without setting it before. It's confusing. [/code]
