Sometime I like using amarok on my second monitor in dual head mode. Since amarok starts in the system tray, and the system tray isn't appearing on my second monitor I can't use it that way.
I'm using kde 3.5
My main monitor lets me add the system tray applet to the panel however my second monitor doesn't... help! |

Did you compile KDE with the xinerama USE flag ?
In general if you use dual-head setups, you should use "xinerama" as a USE flag in /etc/make.conf - that makes all programs capable of dual-head compile with support for this. _________________ -- Jakob L. O. Rosenlund |

Actually I think it worked fine until I recompiled with xinerama
From what I've read xinerama is to mimick the windows dual monitor mode. "Start Menu" on one screen and allowing you to drag your programs from one screen to the other. I'm not able to do this in dual head mode. I'm using an ati card. Maybe later I'll try big screen mode or whatever. But last time i tried it the "start menu" stretched across both screens and looked stupid. Maybe now that xinerama is installed I will get the desired effect? |
