I think that has something to do with "~/.asoundrc". Are you using dmix? this page has some stuff on .asoundrc, which includes a line called "buffer_size". Personally, I never could understand how this file was supposed to look, and whenever I made the smallest changes stuff stopped working. I ended up just buying a nice soundcard which worked well without tinkering. _________________ suicide starts with "su"

I also need to find this out. I'm having problems playing Counter-Strike : Source. Everything works fine except the sounds, which are all a bit choppy and... well, just ugly.
I had a similar problem using Suse with kde, trying to play warcraft 3. I managed to fix the problem by increasing the buffer, to minimize the lagging, and everything went fine.
Who says you can't game well in linux? |
