After my fresh install of RC3, whenever I do an update-modules, I get the following error:
Code: |
depmod: ***Unresolved symbols in /lib/modules/2.4.20-gentoo-r1/kernel/drivers/char/drm/sis.o
Does anyone have any ideas of how I could find out what's going on? I can't get ALSA working without update-modules (the ALSA Guide states I need to run update-modules).
Thanks! |

Yes, several people have reported a problem with 'SiS'. Go back into 'make menuconfig' and into 'Character devices', and deselect SiS support (unless of course you need it for your chipset - look at the help). Then rebuild your kernel. You may need to do a 'make mrproper' - note that this deletes all .config files in your /usr/src/linux directory, so back it up to a safe place first. After make mrproper, copy it back, do another make menuconfig, and then make clean && make bzImage modules modules_install as usual. |
