Ho appena convertito tutte le applicazioni e i nomi file in UTF-8 seguendo questo tutorial e sul mio computer non ho problemi. Tuttavia se esporto una directory con samba e la apro con un computer Windows 2000 (italiano) vedo i nomi file corrotti, in quanto windows non supporta UTF-8.
In smb.conf ho: | Code: | 305 # Enabling internationalization:

Come posso fare per far convertire i caratteri automaticamente da samba?
Lo stesso identico problema ce l'ho con vsftpd.

l'unico che ha iniziato ad usare utf-8 è winXP, ma nn ci metterei la mano sul fuoco.
In ogni caso non ho mai configurato samba per porterti dire cosa e come cambiare, posso solo dirti che quando monto una partizione windows (samba o altro nn importa) gli imposto come charset ISO-8859-15 (che sarebbe l'8859-1 con il simbolo dell'euro) e "generalmente" non ho alcun problema...

risolto.... ecco cosa succede a leggere troppo velocemente il manuale

la cosa strana è che confonde un po' nautilus, nel senso che tenta di connettersi a una macchina diversa della rete

adesso samba funziona, ma non ssh... elenco i files esportati con sshd usando ssh per cygwin o filezilla e vedo i nomi file con i caratteri corrotti 
suggerimenti? (che non siano "usa samba"  )
