|
|
hello.
i have an amd64 computer and installed gentoo amd64 on it. i cannot get my laserjet 6 to work on it. i had a x86 install before (on a different motherboard) and there weren't any problems with it. now i cannot get cups working with that printer on the parallel port. cups, gimp-print etc. is installed, the parallel port is compiled as a module and loaded at startup, but the printer isn't doing anything at all. pc-style hardware and character device printer support is compiled into the kernel. i tried all parallel port-modes ECP and EPP, but both don't work.
any ideas what i might doing wrong? if more information is needed, i will post it.
TIA,
marc |
