I installed the athlon-xp stage3 just like the tutorial at gentoo.org told me. When it comes to "emerge -u world" i get:
Code:

cdimage / # emerge -u world
Calculating world dependencies ...done!
>>> emerge (1 of 41) sys-apps/cronbase-0.2.1-r2 to /
>>> /tmp/sandboxpids.tmp fcntl file lock: No locks available
>>> pids file write: No locks available

I read trough this forum and found out this sandboxpids.tmp is bad and must be deleted, but it comes back and deleting doesn't help...
/tmp and the sandbox-file is rwx for ugo, if that matters...
Please tell me how I can emerge.
Thanks, C-Otto
PS: I use NFS, there is no harddisk. If that matters, tell me.

Solved it. I forgot adding "auto,rw,hard,intr,nolock" as parameters for the mount. I think "nolock" and "no locks available" is quite self explanatory...
Sorry for bothering you, I will think a bit more the next time.

You should not be sorry. I had the same problem and your second post solved for me.

Most people make post and than find the solutions by themself without coming here to update their findings, which would be most useful for others.

I thank you.
