You need to make sure SNMP is available on your box:

Code:
emerge net-snmp

Configure it including an SNMP read community string.

Create a new device in Cacti using localhost and the SNMP read community string configured before. In the basic MIB all your interfaces should show up as well as some other stuff like partition usage, processes, cpu usage, logged in users aso

The interface monitoring can be added through the associative queries menu when you add your box as a device. Choose:

Code:
SNMP - Interface Statistics

Add the graphs to your server through the 'create graphs' section in Cacti.

Don't forget to wait a bit after you create the graphs because they won't show up before some data is gathered!

Good luck!
