Greetings,
Having some trouble compiling support for my video capture card into the kernel. Turns out hacking cx88_card.c is non-trivial. Perhaps some white hat might want to lend a hand getting me from lspci to a good cx88_board entry.
The gory details:
Printed on the hardware:
AverMedia M150-D
Chip 1: Conexant Broadcast Decoder CX23880-19 FF6081.5 0420 Made in Korea
Chip 2: Conexant MPEG II A/V Encoder CX23416-12 E4061776 0424 Made in Korea
Tuner: PHILIPS 3139 147 18261G# FM1236/F H-3 SV21 0406 Made in Indonesia.

Very frustrating. I've read many, MANY web pages indicating that adding suport for new cards is easy. They all go something like this:
Step 1: lspci -v
Step 2: lspci -vn
Step 3: ????
Step 4: Profit!!!
Can anyone point me to a deterministic method, a "How-To" if you will, for adding kernel support for a TV tuner card?
Thanks,
