|
|
GTK 2.0:
1. I type /usr/bin/gedit into the box.
2. gedit launches.
GTK 2.4:
1. I press Ctrl+L.
2. I type /usr/bin/gedit into the box.
3. I wait 5 minutes while the tab completion lists all the files in /usr/bin for me even though I already knew which one I wanted.
4. I press OK.
5. I wait 5 minutes while the main dialog alphabetizes and displays all the files in /usr/bin for me even though I already knew which one I wanted.
6. gedit launches.
This wasn't a big deal until Firefox decided the GTK 2.4 file selector was OH SO AWESOME that they had to use it too. I hate this thing. How do I fix this? _________________ Hard drives are flaky... it's easy to backup to CD-R... do it! |

you can download the source code for gtk from cvs at
:pserver:anonymous@anoncvs.gnome.org:/cvs/gnome/
module gtk+
either it'll be fixed there, or you could make a patch yourself
either way is just as fun. bye _________________ I am SPAM, hear me roar.

Im not joking, if you think the default behaviour could be improved then go fix it. I agree with you on the filename thing - it shouldn't be a difficult fix. Maybe i'll do it myself... _________________ I am SPAM, hear me roar.
