<solved>Coolbits no longer working

I have had Coolbits working to overclock various NVidia cards (selection of Ti4200s, 5900 and 6600gt) , but now can not get the card in my main machine to overclock at all.

The nvidia-settings panel does show the overclocking options- it just will NOT allow me to adjust speeds.
So far I have tried-
using the very latest masked drivers
using the previous masked drivers

I have just begun to look for an answer for this, and a quick search here found me nothing relevant, so I thought I would ask if anyone has had this problem yet.
My guess is that something changed with the newer drivers (just installed the latest unstable in portage to try them too) but I am not sure, and it is simply not working.
I have not yet reverted to the last unmasked drivers, but that may be coming soon. Since performance without overclock is somewhat better using the newer drivers, I am hesitant to revert, but....

With an AGP 6600gt and Quake4, I need them to work. Any ideas, folks?

Ok, I need to slap myself in the head for stupidity now...

Thought I'd share my resolution with others though, as a reminder to ALWAYS check the most basic things first.

My aux power molex was not plugged in.

I had recently replaced my cpu water block which, in this system, meant disconnecting quite a few things including the extra molex on the video card.
Afterwards, I leak tested and started up.

So I now look a fool, but at least my video performance is back where it should be.
