Counterquestion:
Have you risked a look at the option just one line above which mentions Athlon and P4 separately?
The one you ask about mentions only P4.
From the help available during 'make menuconfig':
make menuconfig wrote: | Your processor must be a Pentium or newer to support this |
and a few other hints that should put you on the right track.
