IVTV driver and graphical boot?

Hi,

I have a MythTV box with a Hauppauge PVR 350 card in it that I would like to display a little more user-friendly behaviour when starting up.
Since I have no monitor connected to the box, the first screen that comes up is the garbled output when loading the ivtv-fb driver, and then nothing until the frontend comes up. Not very nice. How do I get something like the startup sequence of the install CD of Gentoo when I boot?
