I am doing something wrong when applying .bz2 kernel patches. I bunzip2 the patch, link the kernel source dir to /usr/src/linux and run:
patch -p1 < patch
I get an error about possibly using the wrong -p or --strip options and a promt asking for the file to patch. A little help please. _________________ MSI MAG B550 Tomahawk

Try using -p0.
The number after p gives the default path reduction parameter. I.e how it chops off parts of the path in the patch file. Normally you should use -p0 when INSIDE the source tree and -p1 from the level above.

But I thought I was running -p1 from /usr/src, when the sources were in /usr/src/linux. Thanks, by the way. _________________ MSI MAG B550 Tomahawk
