|

Well, I have finally been forced to upgrade my kernel to 2.6.15, that means pure udev! My old kernel was a pure devs....
A strange thing is keeping me away from 2.6.15.
In /etc/udev/udev.conf
if you read
udev_rules="/etc/udev/rules.d/"
The system will hang during boot while running udevstart. If I try tu run it by hand, the problem still exists
but if you read
udev_rules="/etc/udev/rules.d/*"
The system will boot, run udev, but the permissions of the device files are all wrong, rendering my system unuseable (as a regular user).
The strange thing is that after boot, if I remove the * from udev_rules, delete the devices and rerun udevstart, all devices are created as expected with the right permissions!
Anyone has any suggestions?
If it matters:
Tried with udev versions 070, and 077-r2
running baselayout-1.11.13-r1
Any more info can be provided on request, but I need help here, I am at a total loss! |
