hi, ok ich benutze kubuntu, aber das auf dem laptop, auf meinem pc läuft natürlich gentoo. folgender fehler sollte eigentlich distributionsunabhängig sein.
ipw2200 lässt sich laden, gibt aber folgendes aus:

zusätzlich muß ich sagen, dass sich ein schalter am laptop befindet, mit dem man wlan an/aus schalten kann.
dabei gibt es zusätzlich 2 erscheinungen:
schalter an: nach langem "modprobe ipw2200" zeigt ein iwconfig das interface nicht! ( dabei erscheint auch oben hinzugefügter code in der var/log/syslog)
schalter aus: nach kurzem "modprobe ipw2200" zeigt ein iwconfig das interface, da wo aber radio on stehen sollte, steht unassociated.?!?!
ieee80211_crypt lädt ohne probleme, nur ipw2200 kann darauf nicht zugreifen.
ich bin wirklich am verzweifeln 
schraub jetzt wirklich schon ewig rum und weiß einfach nicht mehr weiter......

das ist eine zeile aus vorhergehendem post, hier sollte doch eigentlich statt 'NULL' , 'WEP' und statt unregistered , registered stehen? oder nicht?
hat irgendjemand eine idee?

Hier die Lösung des Problems:
hatte anfangs die firmware in das verzeichnis /lib/firmware kopiert,
als ich mal nachschaut, ob da noch alles drin is, pusthekuchen, bei unzähligen compilierversuchen mit rausgelöscht.
dann also neu reinkopiert (das verzeichnis selbst war auch verschwunden)
das selbe hab ich dann mit den neu erstellten dir. in /etc/firmware und /usr/lib/hotplug gemacht.
nach einem neustart ging dann alles (ein modprobe firmware_class hätte wahrscheinlich auch gereicht, naja wobei...)
ich machte mir über die firmware nur keine gedanken, weil kein fehler erschien, aber anscheinend sind die fehlermeldungen nicht mehr da bei neueren versionen?! wie dem auch sei, es funktioniert!
