|
|
hello,
i'm new to compiling kernels. i would like to send my HDD to sleep (for quiet + energy saving) when not in use.
i have read: http://www.gentoo.org/doc/en/power-management-guide.xml
i have not got the files /etc/acpi. Are these installed when i emerge powermnt-base or does that happen when i configure the kernel?
i'm taking this slowly...
thanks for your help |

Have you emerged acpid?
This package contains /etc/acpi
See the section after configuring the kernel in the power management howto. |
