I am getting this error durring Post from LiveCD. And after it gets to the error
Quote: | HDIO_SET_DMA failed: Operation not permitted |
it hangs and sits there forever.
I have been looking around this site for a little over an hour and a half now. And all I can find that is even close to this is people having problems with DMA after LiveCD.
I dont even get a prompt.
If you can help me out please do so. And just to let you know I am new to linux.. I am using gentoo x86 2005 |

Draganfodder,
When the liveCD boot screen comes up, press F2 or F3 for more options. Read the help there.
There are a number of no-options. Use those with a little bit of trial and error.
Ome may even be called nodma _________________ Regards,

Might also be handy to read about those options in the README.txt file on the disc.
But since you get no prompt I suggest you try it on another machine that does work ^^.
Good luck. _________________ Calling atheism a religion, is like calling bald a haircolour. |

I forgot to add this to my origional post.
But it also says...
Quote: | failed to open /dev/fb0 or /dev/fb0 for reading |
but on a different note... The only other kernels on the cd are gentoo-nofb memtest86...
I also printed out the readme.. but where is it that I enter the commands so I can alter the kernel.
When the cd first posts it comes up with the boot: prompt.. and it will only allow me to pick a kernel. |

Draganfodder,
When it says boot:
Type a kernel name followed by a space seperated list of options. These options are passed to the kernel you selected. _________________ Regards,
