Well current Quake3 ebuild has a few mistakes. The first is already reported as a but, that is missing OpenAL dependency for Quake3 (icculus port). The other is that Quake3 is installed in /usr/share/games/quake3 while all the mods like OSP, DeFRAG and other are installed in /opt/quake3! I think this is almost critical mistake since newbies will have problems with this. This should be fixed as soon as possible. I don't know what should be done. Mods moved to /usr/share/games/quake3 or quake3 to /opt/quake3? (native quake3 installer from id software installs quake right there in /opt 
EDIT: What I did is symlinked /opt/quake3 to /usr/share/games/quake3 |

I noticed the latter and did a symlink a while a go, didn't occur to me to report it. Good job. Might wanna file a bug and or speak to zakk.

I don't knwo if it's a mistake or not, but this allow me to run either quake3 or quake3-bin, I think that can be good
BTW, last time I tried quake3 it messed up my q3config :'( , Is there really something good playing with quake3 instead of quake3-bin? |

Just a few extra featuers, and possible cleaner code. You might not even notice a thing. Lots of a fixes for xinerama users, though.
