VMware Player file sharing for host & guest???

There's already a solution for filesharing if the host happens to be Windows, but I've spent lots of hours searching the internet & forums for a solution for Linux as the host with no solution...

I know VMware Workstation can share files through NAT or Samba, and that VMplayer does have a NAT configuration but doesn't finnish setting it up.

Personally I find C++ or assembly easier to understand than networking. Has anyone found a solution for Linux yet? It makes the Linux community look bad that Windows was able to do filesharing 1st between host & guest.

Maybe if there were some sample VMware Workstation NAT &/or Samba configurations posted, these could be compared to the VMware Player configuration to get it's filesharing working in Linux.

If you mean getting files from the host to the client, you should just be able to enable shared folders under Windows, then set up a samba share on the host.

Gentoo (host) sees 'Documents on Vmware'
Win XP (client) sees 'Programs on Samba Server 3.0.20b (Simon)'
