i have two subnets on my home network (192.168.15.* and 192.168.0.*). for some reason, computers from 192.168.15.* can access 192.168.0.*, but not the other way around. any idea why?
here is my network topology: a d-link router (192.168.0.*) is connected to a dsl modem, and a wireless linksys router (192.168.15.*) is connected to the d-link router. the wireless router is set to obtain an IP via DHCP. |

you need to add a route on the d-link to destination network 192.168.15.0 via your linksys router (its ip in 192.168.0.x range) _________________ Nothing is secure / Security is always a trade-off with usability / Do not assume anything / Trust no-one, nothing / Paranoia is your friend / Think for yourself |

i wasn't sure how to add a route to the linksys router (i'm not sure that linksys tech support knew how to either), so i just put the linksys router on the 192.168.0.* subnet.
thanks for the reply. |

I believe you have to configure the wireless router to act as a router, and enable static routing, configuring the route for the 192.168.0.0 network. I could be wrong tho. _________________ Support our troops. |
