When booting from a universal livecd using "gentoo docache" and then placing a dvd containing a valid aes encrypted squashfs into the dvd drive, I do:
Code:
livecd 2.6.11-gentoo-r3 # losetup -e AES /dev/loop/1 /dev/cdrom
Password:
ioctl: LOOP_SET_STATUS: Invalid argument
livecd 2.6.11-gentoo-r3 #

What is the error trying to tell me, and what am I doing wrong?

This works on a pre-summer 2005 gentoo 2.6 box, so I know the dvd is good. I need to do this to be able to upgrade a system and still be able to read legacy backup dvds that were made with an old and now depricated version of aes encryption. These old dvds are using an 8 character password, and the new encryption support will not read them.
