What do you mean "tune up the router"?
Do you want to increase throughput, or improve response, or maximise the numer of connections, or what ?
As should be obvious, you can't do all at once - it's a trade-off.
First and foremost, that router is connected to the Internet via an ISP - who controls most of your transmission capabilities.
There are many things you can do to tweak the responsiveness on your end, including implementing true QoS, or using iproute to create bandwidth groups.
Increasing your buffers will not generally improve anything, unless you're frequently seeing dropped traffic with the buffers you have now.
Unless you mean increasing the size of the TCP window, which is completely different.
Too large a TCP window seriously degrades the responsiveness of your connection, and should generally be avoided.
If you want to improve the Internet experience for your users, set up a Squid proxy server - that can easily save up to 50% of your HTTP bandwidth with 50 users over one connection. _________________ >>> emerge (3 of 7) mcse/70-293 to /
