I just installed XFCE and KDM for a graphic login manager. How do I configure KDM if kdm_config doesn't work?

also you could just run "kdm" as root and configure it from there. You also have the setup file in /etc/X11 you can edit by hand

kdm-setup and kdmsetup aren't commands, neither kdm when run as root, and I don't have a configuration file in /etc/X11. Not called "kdm" anyway.

Well... yeah. I'm using it to login, and it shows it in the list of available login managers.

I believe you have to use the kde control center. It should have been installed when you emerged kdm. As root trying running kcontrol.
