Hows it goin, im new here. Not new to Linux, I've used quite a few distro's over the past 2 years.
I want to install Gentoo, I love how you can customize every aspect.
Have a few questions: Is there a way to build a CD installer from a working Gentoo system? Say you setup the perfect system just how you want it. I am wondering if there is a good way to do the same install on other systems on my network?
Has anyone used a 3ware 8000 series SATA RAID card? I have the 4port model and was told it is supported out of the box. Haven't tried it. Will FDISK see my stripped and mirrored drives as a single drive?

I have a 3ware 8000 series in my server at home, with 5 300GB disks in RAID5. It works like a charm!
No additional drivers needed, just compile it into your kernel or as a module. I use Gentoo-sources for my kernel.

And thanks for the confirmation on the 3ware 8000 seires, I have heard nothing but great things about them.

do you mind changing the title of this thread to something more descriptive in the lines of "Custom live-cd creator and 3ware 8000 SATA RAID"?
