I'm having a problem with vixie-cron. I have one system in my apartment (my server) that is capable of handling email, I basically want all the other systems to send their emails to an account on the server instead of locally. I have SSMTP set up on the other machines to use the server as the mailhub. I set up the account I want the emails sent to in /etc/crontab. If I put my system-wide crons in /etc/crontab, the emails are delivered to the server properly. If I put them in a user crontab, I just end up with dead.letter files in the user's home directory. Is there a way to specify in a user crontab where to send emails?

I tried adding MAILTO = <address> in my user crontab. I have to find a way to test it now. I guess I could set something to run soon that would just echo a message and test it that way, if not I have more cron stuff scheduled for tomorrow morning that will serve as a suitable test. |

Solved, the MAILTO variable just had to be added to the user crontabs. |
