Soo i just emerged gnome and wanted to hear some radio at work, it works fine nothing there .. but i get this annoying error everytime i boot the machine.
Because of this i can't use the little mini speaker to adjust volume with nor the gnome volume manager, the only thing that works is alsamixer.
I have followed this guide http://www.gentoo.org/doc/en/alsa-guide.xml here, verified everything twice that it's standing as it's supposed to be and it is.
And i am a idiot to fix problems, so i want to ask here |

okay so i managed to get all sound working. Banshee, totem now presents me with some nice tune
But the only thing that simply won't work is the little speaker so i can adjust my volume with, and the gnome-volume-control.
did a
both a normal user and root, but without any effect.
And when i start gnome-volume-control there ain't even a error message only this

yep or atleast i think .. i upgraded gstremer to latest unstable, together with the alsa thing .. and it worked fine with gnome 2.12 but had no chance to test in 2.14 (yet).
Code: | [ebuild N ] media-libs/gstreamer-0.10.4 |
and
Code: | [ebuild N ] media-plugins/gst-plugins-alsa-0.10.4 |
That made it work for me. _________________ Proud gentoo user. |
