Just thought I'd let those know who's interested.
In the linux 2.6.15 kernel, SMART support was added for SATA hard drives. This means we can get all kinds of information from the drive including the drive temperatures. This you can get with hddtemp. |

We run a lot of custom NAS boxes with 1-2 terabytes of drive storage on a disk array, so we're REALLY happy about this! |
