I'm trying to setup a mailserver for myself. I wanted to test it using mutt and I couldn't as root. But when I logged in as a regular user It brought up all the test mail I had sent myself? I'm kinda confused to as whats going on and If anyone has any suggestions or if you need any more info I would be happy to supply more. It's not a big deal, because its just me using it but it would be nice to get it configured right.

Thanks,

Randy

What did it say? Is root aliased to your regular user account?

It doesn't say anything it just is a blank mailpage and then when you send mail it works from root but when you send mail to root it will not show it under roots account it works under randy my other user name and as far as I know root is not aliased to randy

Some mailservers setups will not deliver to root for security reasons. It's generally good practice to alias it to a normal user.
