I have mplayer and mplayerplug-in installed but cannot view streaming media from the following site:

www.muzikmedia.com

Select video top 10 and "play video" (any video)

It streams perfectly in Windows but does nothing in Linux

Any ideas...anyone?

It should still work with the mplayerplug-in, it works fine for me.
Have you emerged win32codecs?

I've had win32codecs since i emerged kaffeine. Streaming (video) media just doesn't work for me. I'm wondering if there are any extra browser configurations that I need to perform.

I'm no expert but, to get this working it is very dependent on the USE flags used when emerging mplayer. Here are mine:

Code:

emerge -av mplayer

These are the packages that I would merge, in order:

Calculating dependencies ...done!
[ebuild   R   ] media-video/mplayer-1.0_pre7-r1  USE="X aac aalib alsa bidi cdparanoia dga directfb dv dvd dvdread encode esd fbcon ggi gif gtk i8x0 ipv6 jpeg lirc live lzo mad mmx nas nls opengl oss png rtc samba sdl sse sse2 svga truetype vorbis win32codecs xinerama xmms xv xvid xvmc -3dfx -3dnow -3dnowext -arts -bindist% -bl -cpudetection -custom-cflags -debug -doc -dts -dvb -edl -jack -joystick -libcaca -livecd% -matroska -matrox -mmxext -mythtv -nvidia -real -tga -theora -v4l -v4l2 -xanim" 7,621 kB

I would check your USE flags, obviously make sure mplayer is compiled with the win32codecs USE flag. I thik the live flag is significant too....
