have you made any changes to config files lately that may have caused this?

did you compile OOo from source or just installed the binary?

i have edited my fstab conf file.. i'm not 100% sure, but i don't think the problem lies there..

i have installed OpenOffice by using emerge in console.. honestly, not sure whether that's in binary or compile.. (sori for being a little ignorant here, that's how much i really need help, thanks for the patience by the way.. )

sounds weird.. but my totem video player is also crashing..

thanks aaron.

fstab would have nothing to do with it, if you just did an
Code:

emerge openoffice

then it would be from source, sounds like some library is breaking if totem is having problems too, maybe gtk? I'm not too sure here but I really think it's a library problem, in the meantime you can do a
Code:

emerge -C openoffice

and then an
Code:

emerge openoffie-bin

to get a binary openoffice built to temporarily open and edit your files, it'll be exactly the same as the last one just not compiled, as for the library problems I'll leave that for someone who knows more :?

guys it's okay now.

this is what i did.. i removed all configuration folders (did i name it right? i refer to those folders starting with a dot) in my home directory..

the next time i ran my open office, it worked already. i was able to save my document.

the drawback is that my settings are reset but that's more than okay.

thanks guys.
