hi...
i searched and didn't find anything, so hopefully this is not a repost -- my question is this. i've been running php5 fine with apache2 to date, and i hadn't run an emerge in a week... when i came back, i have a bunch of blocks with regards to php - namely:
[blocks B ] dev-php/PEAR-Archive_Tar (is blocking dev-php/PEAR-PEAR-1.3.6-r2)
[blocks B ] dev-php/PEAR-Console_Getopt (is blocking dev-php/PEAR-PEAR-1.3.6-r2)
[blocks B ] app-admin/eselect-php (is blocking app-admin/php-toolkit-1.0-r1)
[blocks B ] dev-php/PEAR-XML_RPC (is blocking dev-php/PEAR-PEAR-1.3.6-r2)
[blocks B ] <dev-php/PEAR-PEAR-1.3.6-r2 (is blocking dev-php/PEAR-PEAR-1.3.6-r2)
[blocks B ] dev-lang/php (is blocking dev-php/php-4.4.0-r4)
it also seems to be wanting to downgrade all the pear packages i have (with the exception of pear-pear itself), and wants to install php4 and simultaneously upgrade php5.
any ideas, especially as this was workin and it just started doing this after the recent emerge sync?

Add --tree to your emerge options (i.e. emerge -utvDN). Sounds like another package is pulling in older versions.
